Ruins of Lordaeron: quests, bosses & Crest locations

Horde: four quests before you enter

• The Wrath of Rath’mael — Deathguard Kristof at the camp southeast of Brill, around 65.2, 60.1. Defeat Rath’mael inside.
• A Frightened Request — Tabitha Heartweaver at the Sepulcher in Silverpine Forest, around 44.5, 43.0. Investigate Edward’s body near Rath’mael; return to Tabitha afterward.
• Light’s Justice — Morbin Lightbane in Undercity’s Royal Quarter, around 57.9, 89.2. Collect 25 Intact Limbs; keep looting while clearing.
• The New Plague — Theodore Griffs in the Apothecarium, around 46.3, 71.6. Loot Witherfang’s Highly Toxic Strain.

Two more Horde quest starts are items found inside: the Baron’s head and the Crest of Lordaeron. This is the captured pickup route; coordinates are approximate.

Entrance and dungeon overview

The instance portal is in the ruins above Undercity, not down in the city. Follow the staircase and portal approach in the video. The layout has several routes; the numbered map follows this run’s boss order, with the Baron visited later.

Ordinary enemies also matter for Intact Limbs. Keep checking your quest progress instead of leaving all looting until the end.

Five possible Crest locations

The Crest can appear in different places. The following reported locations are a search checklist, not a promise that every spot contains a Crest in your run:

1. Crypt near The Baron: through the door, on the wall behind the banshee.
2. Tower beside Bjork: below the stairs.
3. Behind Bjork’s patrol: on the wall inside the small building.
4. Tower near the spiders: outside wall at the top.
5. Tower past The Abandoned: outside wall at the top.

Pick up the Crest, then use it from your bags to start the quest. Horde turns it in to Oran Snakewrithe in Undercity’s Magic Quarter; Alliance takes it to Lady Dena Kennedy in Stormwind Keep.

Alliance quest differences

The gameplay follows Horde. These Alliance instructions are reference guidance rather than an Alliance quest demonstration:

• Abominable Creatures: Captain Truman just inside the entrance. Defeat The Baron and bring the head back before leaving.
• Bloodied Insignia: watch skeleton loot for the starting item. Collect 10 insignias and turn in to General Marcus Jonathan in Stormwind.
• Remember That I Love You: look near Edward in the graveyard for the Blood-Stained Letter. The chain goes to Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind, then Avette Fellwood in Darkshire.
• Crest of Lordaeron: use the found Crest; Lady Dena Kennedy in Stormwind Keep is the Alliance turn-in.

Turn-ins and Unending Torment

Horde: return the Crest to Oran, Intact Limbs to Morbin and Highly Toxic Strain to Theodore. Return A Frightened Request to Tabitha and The Wrath of Rath’mael to Kristof.

Finish the Baron’s head follow-up

1. Use the Abominable Head to start Unending Torment, then visit Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity.
2. Follow the unfinished abomination interaction and return to Faranell for the ingredient step.
3. Buy a Toxic Skullcap from Tawny Grisette in the Trade Quarter, gather Blisterweed near the herbalism trainer, and buy Essence of Agony from Ezekiel Graves, the poison vendor in the Rogues’ Quarter. Follow the video’s merchant windows and gathering action.
4. Deliver the ingredients, receive the Hissing Serum, and use it on the system above the abomination.
5. Return to Faranell for the final completion. The first head turn-in is not the end of the chain.
