Will Your GPU Run WoW Forever?
Forever drops several older graphics architectures because the updated renderer requires a capability some formerly supported cards do not provide.

What Blizzard confirmed
- Supported architecture floors are AMD GCN 1, NVIDIA Maxwell, and Intel Skylake integrated graphics or newer.
- Blizzard lists Radeon HD 7850, GeForce GTX 9-series plus GTX 750 and 750 Ti, and Intel HD Graphics 530 as compatible examples.
- Radeon HD 6950, GeForce GTX 760, 770, 780 and GTX 8xxM, and Intel HD Graphics 6000 are listed as unsupported examples.
- The technical boundary is support for RGBA16F unordered-access views in compute shaders, not simply the age or model number printed on a card.
Why this matters for players
Check the exact GPU model and architecture before buying or upgrading anything. Model numbers can mislead—for example, Blizzard lists some GTX 700 cards as compatible and others as unsupported. If your card is near the boundary, verify it against Blizzard’s official examples and the final system requirements rather than relying on a generic performance estimate.
